Spanish II builds on the skills and concepts learned in Spanish I.  Students will explore countries and cultures of the Spanish-speaking worlds as well as learn how to express themselves with more detail and variety.  Cultural projects, recipes, movies, literature, and the Internet sites are used to expand the cultural and language growth in level II.  Students are expected to use Spanish as much as possible.

Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Spanish I with a C- or higher or with a teacher recommendation.



Spanish III

Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Spanish II with a C- or higher or with a teacher recommendation.

Oral proficiency is emphasized and students are expected to participate and engage in Spanish as much as possible.  Students will review and expand their usage of grammatical structures and expressions.  Spanish III students will engage in creative dialogues, literary analysis, cultural and country studies as well as expanding their knowledge of current events in the Spanish-speaking world. 


Spanish IV

Prerequisite: successful completion of Spanish III with a C- or higher

 Oral proficiency is emphasized and students are expected to participate and engage in Spanish.  Students will read Spanish literature, study the history and culture of Spanish-speaking countries, and discuss current events.  Students will use advanced grammatical structures and review previous structures.  Authentic art projects, cooking, dramatizations, and film are part of this course of study.
